Before you can start your DStv Explora Installation, it is recommended by Multichoice to use an 80cm/90cm Satellite Dish. When connecting a Dstv Explora decoder so that you receive better signal and get all the functionalities. There are 2 common ways of connecting your Explora decoder which are to connect using a Smart LNB or using a Dstv Multi-Switch.
When connecting Explora Decoder, you can use a Smart LNB. It is the easiest way since it uses a single cable from your Satellite Dish straight to your decoder. What you need to do is to align your dish so that it receives signals. Then connect your signal cable to one of the signal Unicable ports on your smart LNB. The other end goes straight to your decoder. On the decoder your cable must be connected to the LNB input marked Unicable. Connect your decoder to your TV using HDMI cable or RCA cable. When done with the connections switch on your decoder and follow the installation wizard then enjoy.

A Twin LNB or a Quad LNB can be used when connecting a Dstv Explora Decoder through a Dstv Multi-Switch. When using a Twin LNB, connect two cables coming from the Satellite Dish going to the Dstv Multi-Switch. On the Dstv Multi-Switch, you should connect them to the input ports marked V-low and H-low. Then the Multi-Switch converts the Universal Signal comes from the Twin LNB into Unicable Signal. So that there will be one cable going to the Dstv Explora. Connect a single cable from the Multi-Switch Unicable output port marked either A or B. Then it goes straight to the back of your decoder on LNB input port.
When using a Quad LNB, connect four cables coming from the Satellite Dish going to the Dstv Multi-Switch. On the Dstv Multi-Switch, you should connect them to the input ports marked V-low, H-Low, V-High & H-High. Then the rest of the connections are the same as you are connecting using a Twin LNB

This is the most common DStv error code people experience, E48-32 together with the message “There is no signal. This may be due to bad weather or a faulty connection in the installation”. In most cases this is caused by loss of signal from your Satellite Dish or a Fault LNB. To solve the problem. First check if all of your connections are tightly connected properly. E143-4 Error message, This is a Heartbeat communication error from the primary decoder to the secondary decoder or second secondary decoder. In most cases this caused by a faulty heartbeat cable, faulty splitter or wrong Extra View Installation. To fix this error, first check if the primary decoder is switched on then check all of your connections and your Signal Quality as well. Due nature of the product, we strongly recommend that you contact a MultiChoice Accredited installer who will install and activate your XtraView network. The latest version of decoder software. The latest version of Smartcard. Once installed, activate your XtraView (if your installer has not already done so) by contacting the MultiChoice Call Centre with your subscription details, decoder details, Smartcard details, primary decoder choice and product choice. Once the call centre agent has set-up your network, they will confirm once Xtraview is activated.
